The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has formally announced an increase of social grant payments for November 2025. The main purpose of this adjustment is to give economic relief to the needy groups of the society, which include the elderly, disabled persons, and child grant receiving families. Here is the complete distribution of the new amounts, payment days, and eligibility for the adjustment.
The Main Reason For SASSA To Increase Grants In November 2025
The Department of Social Development (DSD) introduced the November increase as part of the government’s overall strategy to combat inflation and to ensure the beneficiaries keep the same purchasing power. The increase is a direct response to the rise in food, fuel, and living costs that have hit low-income South Africans the hardest over the previous year.
The latest increment is also in support of Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s promise to improve social protection and make sure that no beneficiary is neglected during the economic recovery period in the country.
New Payment Amounts For Each Grant Category
From November 2025, the revised amounts will be granted to the beneficiaries as per the details given below:
- Old Age Pension: Amount raised from R2,180 to R2,210 for those below 75 years, old, and from R2,200 to R2,230 for the 75 years and above.
- Disability Grant: Raised to R2,210 per month.
- War Veterans Grant: Amount set at R2,230.
- Child Support Grant: Remains R540 a month.
- Foster Care Grant: R1,180 has become the new grant amount.
- Care Dependency Grant: The amount is R2,210 now.
- Grant-in-Aid: Amount raised to R540.
The mentioned increases will be credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts or SASSA cards automatically, and no reapplication is needed for the same.
SASSA Payment Dates For November 2025
The order of the payment schedule for November 2025 from SASSA is as follows:
- Older Persons Grant: Monday, 3 November 2025
- Disabilty Grant: Wednesday, 5 November 2025
- Children’s Grants: Friday, 7 November 2025
The beneficiaries are advised to not hurry to collection points on the first day to eliminate long queues since the money is still safely available in the accounts for later withdrawals.
